Glacier Southern Lakes Helicopters Names Brand New Helicopter After Legendary Pilot

Glacier Southern Lakes Helicopters has a brand-new Airbus B3e Squirrel added to the fleet of scenic helicopters.  

This one is a little special, being named after the legendary pilot Alfie Speight.  Alfie is renowned for his expert flying most famously way back when the original Lord of the Rings movies were filmed in New Zealand.  Many movies later and having flown many international guests around our spectacular Queenstown, Milford Sound and Fiordland regions, Alfie now has his initials on the tail of this new Airbus helicopter.   

“India | Alfie | Speight | IAS” 

Such a fitting tribute to an awesome yet unassuming Kiwi flyer.
