Located in the South Island resort town of Wanaka, Edgewater Hotel Wanaka is an outstanding Qualmark four-star plus, Gold hotel for your leisure and touring clients.  Edgewater Hotel is Wanaka’s only accommodation located directly on the lake edge.

Guest rooms range from hotel room, one bedroom suite and two-bedroom apartments.    Suites and apartments provide a washing machine/dryer in the rooms.

A multi-million dollar refurbishment programme during 2023-2024-2025 has resulted in a new look and modern styling in guest rooms, including individual air-conditioning (AC).  The majority of guest rooms have now been fully refurbished which are known as "premium" rooms.

Edgewater is 1 hour drive from Queenstown, 5 hours from Christchurch and 4 hours from Franz Josef Glacier.

Facilities include the Wineglass Café for all day dining, tennis courts, spa, sauna, mountain bikes (hire charge), free Wi-Fi and free car parking.   There is dedicated coach parking.

Edgewater is a member of Lake Wanaka Tourism and the Tourism Export Council of New Zealand. The hotel is New Zealand owned and managed.

Sustainability

Edgewater Hotel Wanaka was awarded the Toitū carbon reduce certification starting in 2022, validating Edgewater’s commitment to managing and reducing  emissions. We have renewed our certification each year since then.   View details on other sustainability initiatives here.
