40th Birthday @ Edgewater - Lake Wanaka
Edgewater celebrates it 40th birthday on 10th July 2026. Amazing to believe the hotel opened in 1986 right on the shores of Lake Wanaka.
At a recent celebration original staff members Helen and Dave Keimig took the honour of cutting the birthday cake (pictured )
Through the years the hotel has transitioned through various refurbishments. The current phased refurbishment programme has transformed and modernised the guest rooms. By November 2026 about 90% of the guest rooms will be refurbished and are referred to as ‘premium’ guest rooms.
