The Seasider Train Features on BBC Travel Show

Earlier this year the BBC completed filming of Dunedin Railway’s Seasider train journey for its travel-by-rail series with the working title of “Great Railway Journeys in New Zealand”.    It is expected the programme with be broadcast in 2027.

The Seasider:    This train excursion departs from Dunedin Railway Station and travels north, hugging the rugged coastline.  The train journeys through Port Chambers, Deborah Bay, Blueskin Bay and Purakaunui Beach before continuing onto Karitane and Seacliff.  

The train departs from Dunedin Railway station at 3.00pm and returns 6.30pm. The retail price is $108 per adult (1 July 2026 – 30 June 2027).
