Connecting Dunedin with Queenstown: New Product for Summer

Taieri Gorge Train Partners with Cheeky Kiwi

The Taieri Gorge scenic train excursion is partnering with Cheeky Kiwi (scheduled road transport) to provide a seamless connection between Queenstown and Dunedin (and reverse) designed for FIT’s who don’t want to drive themselves.

Cheeky Kiwi pick up your clients from main Queenstown hotels from 6.30am and takes them on a scenic road journey through the Central Otago region.  Along the way taking in highlights like St Bathans, Ophir Bridge and more.  A morning tea is provided at Dunstan House.

Cheeky Kiwi meets the Taieri Gorge train at the ‘turn around point’ in Pukerangi.  Guests embark on the train for their scenic trip into Dunedin, arriving at the Dunedin Railway Station about 2.15pm.   They make their own way to their Dunedin accommodation.

This trip works in reverse:  Guests depart Dunedin Railway Station on board the Taieri Gorge train.  At Pukerangi guests leave the train for Cheeky Kiwi’s road transport through Central Otago.  This time with afternoon tea at Dunstan House.  Arrival to Queenstown about 6.30pm in the evening – again with delivery to key hotels.

This is a new product that commences on 13th November 2025 running through until 30 April 2026.  It runs five days per week (same as the Taieri Gorge Train – no trips on Tues or Weds).
